| October 11, 2005 Some Conclusions about the Big Questions By Bob Connor - The Teagle Foundation Over the past few months, as readers of this blog will recognize, the Teagle Foundation has been exploring in various ways a big question: Where have all the “Big Questions” gone?—that is, what’s the place of questions of meaning and value, good and evil, etc. in today’s liberal education? I’ve reached some tentative conclusions, or rather, the hypothesis that one of the best ways to strengthen liberal education is to get these questions back front and center into undergraduate education. Now the question is can we find some good ways to test that hypothesis? My “Big Questions” piece is now available at http://www.teaglefoundation.org/president/essays/20051011.aspx. I’ll be interested in your reactions and those of anyone to whom you may want to forward it. Email This Article | Subscribe to E-Updates |
